For the Lack of Butterflies
AMY DUPCAK
Fiction: Nick vaguely remembered a time when he and Anne had chased one another like kids, laughing and tickling and falling over furniture. She had been the type to lean too close to the edge, the type to urge “faster faster” until they nearly broke the sound barrier in his 1984 Porsche. Perhaps she was only trying to prove herself, he thought, to rebel against becoming her mother.

Poem: Our grandfathers met at work in the fifties

they stayed in touch, flew us all overseas

Run
AMANDA MILLER
Nonfiction: I thought maybe if I ran fast enough, I could shed my skin.  Somehow the inertia would become so great that my dermal layer would be seized and ripped off by the wind.
